join us for a one-hour presentation at the West Des Moines library to learn more about the Japanese wellness philosophy of Shinrin-yoku, the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy practice of forest therapy (that Brandy is trained in!), and see photos and hear stories from my recent trip to Japan, where I experienced Shinrin-yoku in the forests where the practice began 40 years ago.

I will guide a 2-hour forest therapy walk to support Iowa non-profit, CULTIVATE: Local Food Connections.

Registration for this event will be a donation to CULTIVATE: Local Food Connections. The suggested donation is $20, but any amount is welcome. You can make a donation through through CULTIVATE's website.

This event will be held at Walnut Woods Park, (3155 Walnut Woods Dr, West Des Moines, IA 50265). The exact meeting location for the walk will be sent in a follow up email.

This walk will end with a tea ceremony and chance to learn about and chat with Spotlight Guests from the non-profit, Hope to Shine, and its associated social enterprise business, Shine Housekeeping, a local Des Moines-based social enterprise that offers job skills development and experience to women from central Iowa's refugee and immigrant communities.
