Earth, Trees, Sky + HAND PIES!

  • Greenwood Park 4500 Grand Avenue Des Moines, IA, 50312 United States (map)

What better way to honor International Earth Day than devoting the afternoon to reconnecting with the natural world on a nature therapy walk, and supporting two women-owned Des Moines businesses that are committed to sustainable practices? We agree– we can’t think of a better way to spend the day either!

This is a great time to explore the Clare and Miles Mills Rose Garden and magnificent evergreens that Greenwood Park offers to visitors. After your forest bathing experience, you will enjoy a tea ceremony in the sunshine with Kimberly Dunn-Helm, Owner of Domestic Bones. Kim will share the story of her local Iowa business and will serve up her hot, flakey, lip-smacking savory hand pies.

This event will be held at the much-loved Greenwood Park in Des Moines, right behind the Art Center. After the 2-hour forest therapy walk, we will enjoy a tea ceremony featuring forest tea and delectable savory hand pies from Domestic Bones.
